This project is situated in the Sierra Nevada Foothills of Paradise, California. While the site was unfortunately leveled in the 2018 Camp Fire - a disaster that destroyed upwards of 95% of structures in Paradise, the new owner sought to bring new life to the property. Inspired by the architecture and landscapes of rural France, this design brings a together a bit of Old World Europe to Northern California. Compliance with California Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) Codes presented technical challenges that could be easily overcome through careful material selection.
